At the center of the Xiong Village, within the village chief’s abode, the figures of the village chief Xiong Ba, along with Lang Kuang, Xiong Gang, Xiong Lan, Tuzi Baoli and the remaining village elders and commanders such as Uncle Weiwu were now seated around a central wooden table carved with elaborate designs.

“It’s as you’ve heard, the Lang Clan as of three months ago, underwent a major change. Uncle Weiwu and the others nodded as they understood the situation clearly. However, Lang Kuang hearing this frowned, he cast his eyes towards Tuzi Baoli and noticed her sad expression as he sighed while thinking to himself, “Baoli... to think that such a thing would occur.”

Xiong Ba having said his earlier statement continued his words, “This was already a troublesome problem but in reply to Lang Clan’s growing threat. The ancient Bianfu Clan, Honghu Clan, and Yemaozi Clan had allied to form a group they call the - Tri-Alliance, as they started to prepare for a counterattack. A week ago, we had greeted an emissary from the three clans saying that we should join their cause, but we had rejected them. Now, just today, the Lang Clan had sent Lang Hundan to force us into submission. It is for this reason why I’ve decided to repel the Lang Clan, because of what’s happened today. I’ve even sent Shaman Pantu ahead with his squad, to keep an eye on Lang Hundan as well as to notify us of any unexpected changes...”

Uncle Weiwu, along with the other Xiong clan elders, remained silent as their eyes looked towards Lang Kuang.

“Can you understand now, Gang'er, Little Kuang? I decided this for the sake of our Xiong clan...” Xiong Ba once more said with a complicated look in his eyes.

Tuzi Baoli seeing this wanted to say something, but before she could do so, Lang Kuang smiled and replied, “I see, so this is the case. That’s why I felt the strange looks. Hmm, Chief Ba, since this is the current circumstance, are you expecting me to leave with my companions tomorrow?”

Xiong Ba remained silent for a moment as he these words, he swept his eyes across the faces of the village elders and commanders before he closed his eyes. After a short while, he opened his eyes, showing a firm look as he spoke once more. “Little Kuang, I don’t want to do this, but I have no other choice. You see, I must think about the safety of our Xiong Clan, the waters of Lang Clan are far too dangerous for us to meddle at this time.
